Recently, the internet has been obsessing over one particular optical illusion that comes from Playbuzz user Jack O'Neil. This puzzle presents viewers with a big red dot and asks them to "calm [the] mind and stare at this red circle. See anything?"
How we feel can certainly affect the way we respond to stimuli in our surroundings, including how we're able to interpret optical illusions.
This puzzle's phrasing suggests that the quieter we're able to settle our minds, the more likely we are to spot its hidden image. However, the red dot test has left many asking if there really is anything hidden in the circle at all.
Some of those who can't find it suggest that eyesight may be a large factor in whether or not viewers can see beyond the red dot.

While this circle feels innocent enough, it is, in fact, stumping more folks than these online optical illusions usually do.

While some people have said they stared into this pesky red dot and could only make out this horse's outline, others have claimed to see a much more elaborate sketch, including tail, mane, and saddle details.
Others, still, stare at the dot without seeing anything else at all besides its red hue.
The puzzle's inciting question suggests that the only thing standing in the way of seeing this hidden horse sketch is a racing mind.
As this puzzle continues generating such different responses, though, one starts to question whether or not other factors are coming into play.
Who knows? Maybe this little puzzle is really more of a vision test than a mind-quieting test!
