Nothing Is Sweeter Than This Newborn! ADORABLE!

The Nashville Zoo is proud to welcome their newest baby.

The healthy female cub was born on July 3 and has been under the watchful eye of zoo supervisors because red pandas often have high infant mortality rates which make it difficult for the species to rebound from population declines. (Red pandas are considered vulnerable to extinction due to habitat destruction, so the zoo and AZA's Species Survival Program, that manages the breeding of a species in order to maintain a healthy and self-sustaining population.)

The now two-month old cub is continuing to bond with her mother in an off-exhibit den. The zoo hopes to debut the unnamed cub later this fall.
