Reese Witherspoon is having a baby!!!!!… but just an imaginary one.
Reese and Jennifer Garner appeared on the cover of OK! magazine with the headline "Baby Bombshells!" The tabloid claimed that Reese and Jen are both expecting babies at the same time.
The story is very much false, which is clear because Reese took a photo of the cover and posted it to her Instagram to make fun of it. She captioned the photo, "Hey @jennifer.garner! Can we raise our imaginary babies together?"
Jennifer was totally into it.
"We are going to be the cutest imaginary family!! I'll just go ahead and move in now… ♥️♥️♥️♥️," she wrote.
Other celebrities and fans played along with Reese's sarcastic joke, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sara Foster, and Ali Wentworth. If you're going to call out a tabloid, this is definitely the most entertaining way to do it.
Please accept our imaginary congratulations, Reese.
Reese Witherspoon needs no introduction. She's been on fire lately — she owns her own production company, stars in the Emmy-nominated HBO series Big Little Lies, and has a bunch of exciting upcoming projects on the horizon.
But that's not the type of stuff that makes the tabloids! Nope, they would rather print stuff like this cover, which claims that Reese and Jennifer Garner are both expecting babies. At the same time.
As a Hollywood veteran, Reese has had to deal with a whole lot of rumors of this type throughout her career. At this point, she can just make a joke of it.
She posted a photo of the magazine cover on her Instagram page, with a playful caption.
"Hey @jennifer.garner! Can we raise our imaginary babies together?" she wrote.
Jennifer played along, and several silly comments from other celebs ensued.
Actress Sara Foster congratulated Reese and Jennifer on their "exciting" news. Then fellow pal Sarah Michelle Gellar asked if she could imaginary babysit the new imaginary babies…
And Reese one-upped her by asking her to be the imaginary godmother.
Ali Wentworth even offered to throw a baby shower, which Reese clarified would also be imaginary.
"Imaginary babies are the best," one fan wrote. "So quiet and easy to take care of."
Reese agreed!
But she also joked that she wished someone had informed her of her own pregnancy a little sooner. Give a gal a head's up, ya know?
In real life, Reese already has three kids. Her oldest daughter — Ava, 19 — is her literal lookalike.
Her middle child, Deacon, is 15. Both Ava and Deacon are children from Reese's previous marriage to Ryan Phillippe.
And Reese shares her youngest child — Tennessee, 6 — with her current husband of seven years, Jim Toth.
Reese hasn't mentioned wanting more kids publicly, and she's clearly not pregnant, so…
Given her sarcastic response to the pregnancy rumor, it probably won't surprise you to learn that Reese has a very good sense of humor about parenting. She regularly posts memes about #MomLife.
And actually, so does her "Hollywood BFF" Jennifer Garner!
Like Reese, Jen is already a mother three times over. She shares all three of her children — Violet, 13; Seraphina, 10; and Samuel, 7 — with her ex-husband Ben Affleck.
Most recently, Jen shared a hilarious photo of herself dressing up for Samuel's seventh birthday party. Apparently, he was not a fan.
Props to these two for turning a silly rumor into a funny moment.
