His Dream Just Came True, And It’ll Bring You To Tears!

Rion Holcombe has dreamed of becoming a college student. The 20-year-old, who has Down syndrome, had applied to the ClemsonLIFE program at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., but wasn't home when his acceptance letter came in the mail. After taking a peek and seeing the good news, they decided to film the moment he learned he got accepted.

His mom Susan Holcombe filmed her son opening his acceptance letter — and his reaction is beautiful. As he opens the letter, Holcombe didn't quite believe the news he'd been accepted to college at first. The emotional video shows him turning to his dad to confirm the news.

"I got accepted?" Rion asks. "They said yes?"

"They said yes!" his dad says. "What do you say?"

"Yes!" Rion exclaims, beaming. "This is crazy!"

Holcombe received his acceptance letter back in December of 2013, but the video continues to be a viral success with nearly 2 million views. He will attend a two-year program called Clemson Life that will teach him skills he needs to be independent.
