Sons Surprise Mom With Brand-New House On Her Birthday

The American Dream has always been simple: everyone wants a good home, a good job and a good family. Yet, there's one tiny piece that is so often omitted from it: so many children imagine that one day they will become so successful, they can finally buy Mom the house that she had always dreamed of.

For Brooklyn Nets rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, his dream has come true. After being drafted, the first thing he knew he had to do was buy his mom a new house.

"When I told the woman who owned the house why we were buying it, she cried. Being a mom, she understood what it meant more than us guys do. It was an emotional moment, and then she said, 'We can make this happen.' They even bought my mom a cake!" Rondae says.

He and his brother invited their mother over to the new place on her birthday. When she walks in the door, everyone shouts, "Surprise!" Then they reveal that this isn't just a birthday party, this house is hers.

Needless to say, like when Charles Green bought his dad a house, there were a whole lot of tears.

“She said it was her best birthday ever. That’s huge for me and my brother, and my uncle, who is like a brother to us. That’s big in our eyes, to be able to do that. Being able to change your mom’s life, to be able to put her in a comfortable situation. … It makes that feeling in your heart go to ease,” he says.
