If you ask me, the majority of bugs can be classified as creepy and crawly. But when it comes to the insect you're about to meet, I'd say the opposite is true. Prepare to be amazed by the Dryocampa Rubicunda, commonly known as the Rosy Maple Moth. It's one of the most colorful moths of all, and some even call it the most beautiful bug in the entire world.
Rosy Maple Moths are known for their cute, fuzzy bodies and gorgeous yellowy white/rosy pink coloring. They're found across many eastern states, as far south as the Gulf Coast and as far west as Texas (which is crazy to me, because not once have I been lucky enough to spot one of these beauties). They can be difficult to find due to their shy demeanor, but anyone who has been lucky enough to encounter a Rosy Moth — which would happen between the months of May to August — agrees it's an amazing sight to see.

Seeing them as newly-hatched eggs, you'd never know the creatures inside will eventually turn into something so gorgeous...
...Because after transitioning out of its caterpillar phase, the Rosy Maple Moth emerges in all its glory.
Known for its fuzzy pink and yellow bodies, the Rosy Maple Moth is one of the most beautiful bugs in the world.
These guys are easy to spot with their noticeable coloring, but they are nocturnal insects and are most active at night.
Rosy Maple Moths live all over the eastern United States, including Texas, Florida and Minnesota. They can be seen flying through the night sky from May to August.
Many people say the gorgeous moth looks just like a Battenberg cake, a sponge cake covered in jam with a pink and yellow check pattern inside. See the resemblance?
