You've probably seen the red buckets on tripods around during the holidays. The men dressed as Santa or his staff in their red uniforms, often standing with a bell, to ask Good Samaritans for donations to the Salvation Army. It's not unusual to see plenty of good folk reach into their back pockets to rummage for change or a couple of bucks. However, on one particular day, Salvation Army staff was stunned by what they found in their red kettle buckets.
A mysterious stranger went around the area donating what looked like a single dollar to various bucket stations. However, when the four kettles were opened up at the Salvation Army headquarters, what they found was a whopping $10,010. The one dollar bills were folded over stacks of $100s. The staff believes the donor wanted to remain anonymous, but they wanted whomever it was to know their gesture was nothing short of a Christmas miracle.
"I don't look at the donation for the money they are putting in the kettles, I look at the donation for the intention of the heart," said Salvation Army Captain Angel Calderon said. "This specific donation impacts a lot my heart." The Captain hadn't seen anything like this in all his 15 years working there.
