When you're still in high school, there are a few instances that seem like the most important moments of your life: getting your driver's license, graduating, and — of course — prom.
Prom gives teenagers the opportunity to dress to the nines and behave like adults for one unforgettable night. In many ways it's the last hurrah of being a teenager. It's full of important traditions from voting for the Prom King and Queen to choosing that one perfect dress.
And, of course, there's choosing who you're going to take to prom.
I definitely remember the girl I took to prom, but I have no recollection of how I asked her. There were no flash mobs, no viral videos, or heartfelt pleas. Knowing me, it was a pretty casual request over subpar cafeteria food during lunch. (Sorry for the lack of romance, ladies.)
However, Levittown, NY seniors Mike Pagano and Sarah Kardonsky have a story that they'll remember forever.
Please SHARE if you think everyone deserve the opportunity to have the the prom of their dreams!
It was actually Mike who first asked Sarah to prom this year, but she had to decline. She'd already said yes to another date.

The more she thought about it, however, the less sure she was of her decision. Mike actually has a form of high-functioning autism and, according to Sarah, is one of the nicest guys at school. Sarah couldn't stand the thought that he might have to go to prom alone.
Sarah spoke to her prom date and they both agreed that, if possible, Sarah should take Mike instead. Sarah thought about the best way to do it, as she wanted to give this incredible guy a memory he'd never forget.

For the past few weeks, Sarah had been plotting a surprise prom proposal. If you haven't been able to tell from these photos, Mike is a die-hard New York Jets fan (and has been since he was seven years old).

Mike walked into the classroom recently and Sarah played him this video. She didn't just ask him to prom herself, she got nine of the actual Jets players to ask Mike for her. You've got to watch this video!
Not surprisingly, he said "yes" before the video even stopped. The entire classroom cheered and Mike was absolutely beside himself seeing his heroes urging him to go to prom with the girl he first wanted to ask.

Even his parents came to see the amazing video. His mother told their local news station, "I couldn't ask for anything more for him. This is like him winning the gold."

Sarah says, "He really deserves it. He's such a great kid. Everyone loves Mike... I'm just really happy that he's happy." We're happy for you too, Sarah.
