One Shopper Found A Deadly Spider In Her Bag Of Grapes

After a shopping trip at a local Kroger in Michigan, one shopper got a little more than she bargained for.

When Alexis Gentile arrived home, she and her brother noticed a live spider in their bag of grapes as they were eating them. But, unlike the spider one man found in his banana, the one these two siblings saw could’ve killed them both.

“I took a picture of it because it was so large but when the flash went off we noticed the red of the underbelly and then we were pretty sure it was a black widow,” Alexis told Detroit's WXYZ. (The spider is shown in the video below.)

Alexis managed to kill the venomous spider and bring it back to the store. The store said the grapes were imported from Mexico and promised to follow-up.

The shopper, who said she will continue to shop at Kroger despite the scary incident, urges other people to pay attention to the fruits they buy.

“It’s important to rinse them thoroughly,” Alexis said. “Even though we rinsed them, we didn’t see [the spider].”
