Sisters Sarah and Rebecca Schmitt were in school at Brookwood Elementary in Kansas City on the day their dad, United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Scott Schmitt, returned home.
The girls hadn't seen their dad since November 2016.
You know what that means — get those tissues ready!
First, the lieutenant colonel surprised his youngest daughter, Sarah.
The young girl was in class, deeply immersed in her schoolwork, when suddenly, she heard that familiar voice from behind her.
"Hey, everybody!"
She turned around, and her mouth dropped in a gasp when she saw her dad. Sarah then ran to him and embraced him, quickly falling into tears.
But the surprises weren't done yet.
The school let Sarah go home early to spend more time with Lieutenant Colonel Schmitt, but not before they went to surprise Rebecca as well.
Rebecca was on the school's playground, and had no idea what was going on.
She didn't even notice Sarah running toward her, with their dad walking behind her.
When Rebecca saw her sister, she went to put her arm around her, but then her eyes met with Scott's.
She was instantly frozen, as if the mere sight of him paralyzed her in shock!
But she quickly broke out of it and ran to him, at which point the three of them held each other in a sweet embrace.
