April Becker Antoniou had been looking for her father for some time. All April knew is that when she was a little girl, her mom and dad got into a fight.
Her mother stormed off with April, and she never saw her father again. April blamed both of them, but she eventually forgave both of them, too.
“I know that they had a disagreement, and my mom thought it was best to leave. I blame them both equally for making a poor decision,” she told the Wichita Eagle's Hurst Laviana. “After 15 or 20 years, I decided I wasn’t going to be angry about it."
So she looked for her father, Scott Robert Becker. She would type his name into search engines with no luck. Then one day, in 2009, she typed in a phrase that would change her life: "Scott Robert Becker looking for April.”
That's when she found AprilBecker.com, an entire website named after her, devoted to her. On it was a letter that read “Dear April, When you read this, please send an e-mail to: [email protected]. I'm your Dad and I would really like to talk to ya.”
April emailed. As it turned out, like another estranged dad, Dean Harper, Scott had been looking for her for years. He hired two private detectives that cost him $40,000, but they were no help.
The father then created AprilBecker.com. The website had been up for a decade. After 30 years, the two reunited. April welcomed him into the family and introduced him to his grandchildren!
