I always appreciate artists who make me ask myself, "How did they think of that?" Like paintings made from bedsheets, teeny-tiny gourmet meals, or sand sculptures at the bottom of the ocean… Some art makes you wonder how some people could be blessed with that much talent and creativity!
And although I've seen a lot of really impressive art, the work of Li Hongbo is unlike anything I've ever seen before!
Inspired by his days in Beijing, as an editor, Li uses a truly ingenious medium to craft his extraordinary, mind-bending sculptures. This unique material allows his art to bend, flex, stretch, and move in ways that traditional sculptures typically can't. Internationally known, Li travels around the world exhibiting his work in galleries of every language. His sculptures never fail to stun.
