Sculpture Combines A Portrait With An Awesome Optical Illusion

There are a lot of really talented artists out there who produce all kinds of pieces with an attention to detail and patience I could never master. Just take a look at how real this box of money looks, and check out the mosaic work of this man’s floor. That’s amazing stuff!

This clip showcases artist Bernard Pras’ clever work.

Looking through a frame, you think you see the portrait of man. And it’s a fairly popular and recognizable portrait. It’s that of Ferdinand Cheval, who is known for spending close to 33 years building Le Palais Ideal close to Lyon, France. Cheval was a postman who picked up stones and pebbles on his rounds and carried them to the location where he was building.

Now Cheval’s own face has become a work of art with the help of Bernard Pras. If you move even just a little to the side, looking at the "portrait" from any other angle, you’ll see that it's not a portrait at all, but a sculpture.

But the amazement doesn’t stop there: It’s a sculpture made of everyday objects, like chairs, a tub, and what appears to be a piano!

I was utterly blown away by this entire composition and how much time it must have taken to get everything in the perfect position. It's definitely one of the coolest optical illusions I've experienced!
