That’s precisely what happened to TwoBiteBrownie, a then 15-year-old reddit user, and his family. The teen and his brother were messing around in his parents’ room when they stumbled upon a very spooky finding—their parents’ bookshelf had moved and revealed a secret passageway.

According to the homeowner, the previous owners built the house in the early 2000's, and had moved out of the house two years ago. This bookcase was in the master bedroom.
After living in the house for about a year, the owner and his little brother were messing around, when the brother was pushed into the bookcase and pulled on it on his way down. That’s when they realized it was a secret door.
So the two ventured inside...
They noticed a spiral staircase and walked down.
Then they found a crawlspace halfway down the stairs.
What they found was disturbing—Halloween candy stolen from their rooms. The homeowner made a startling realization: “Someone was living in our walls. IN OUR WALLS.”
They found other disturbing things as well, including a key. “We have not the slightest clue what it unlocks.”
Under the blankets, they found an elephant.
They also discovered that if someone was living there, they had some very creepy company.
Police were called to investigate. They found nobody there. The family was told that the person who was living there only did temporarily due to the lack of supplies. The family is still shaken up.
