He might not know it yet, but this little guy is preparing for one of the most important jobs of his life. This is Shadow, an adorable two-month old grey wolf who will soon become an ambassador for his species at the the famous San Diego Zoo.
Currently he is staying at the Children's Zoo nursery where he is being introduced to various smells and sights to get him ready for his new role. Zoo keepers give him ficus leaves to smell and chew, ice cubes to chase and cardboard boxes to climb. Since the nursery is also open to the public he will also become accustomed to seeing guests visiting the nursery.
Once Shadow receives a thumbs up from zoo keepers, he will soon take part in zoo demonstrations that will help visitors learn more about the grey wolf species.
Just a fair warning, watching Shadow prepare for his new job is so adorable you might not be able to stand it. I mean, just look at that face!
