He Stacks Wood Discs And Makes A Lamp That Plays Games With Your Eyes!

Here at LittleThings we see a lot of cool DIY projects. But our favorites are the ones that involve building something out of wood. Especially when they defy what we’d typically expect lumber to do.

For instance, did you know that you could get wood to bend by soaking it in water? If you’re patient and work with the drenched wood very delicately, you can create something that totally shifts your understanding of woodworking possibilities. It’s extremely inspiring.

Yet, that’s not the only imaginative approach to working with wood. Tons of other crafty woodworkers can take something like a pallet, an unwanted sewing table, or a broken door and transform it into something completely new and exciting like a wine rack, coffee table, or a stunning vase that boggles your mind when you realize it was made out of a handful of colored pencils.

Yet, this project created by Instructable’s user mikeasaurus, is truly one of a kind. He utilizes something as ordinary as stacked discs to make something not only beautiful but also plays with your perceptions. The end result of this brilliant DIY is truly something to behold…

The first thing he did was print and cut out a template.

Then he glued the template to wood.

Next he cut the shape.

The edges were then sanded, giving it a slicker look.

It even looks fantastic upside-down.
