Keep Your Eye On This Algae Plant, Because It’s About To Blow Your Mind!

Octopi are the ultimate masters of disguise. They have natural camouflage capabilities that let them change their appearance — which is essential to their survival in the ocean for evading predators or stalking their own prey.

During a recent TED talk with David Gallo, he shows jaw-dropping footage of amazing sea creatures, including a perfectly camouflaged octopus who lives in the depths of the ocean. As the diver in the footage approaches an algae plant, he gets quite a surprise when he discovers it's actually a huge octopus!

As you can see, this creature has the phenomenal ability to morph its body into any shape. Perfectly concealed into its natural environment, this incredible video shows just how talented some animals are at blending in to their surroundings. (Of course, octopi aren't the only animals that can blend into their environments — check out these 16 expertly camouflaged animals)

At first, you may not even be able to see the sea creature because it's so well hidden. But when it finally shows itself, it will take your breath away! I actually yelled at my screen because I was sure I was seeing things!

What is most amazing is how quickly the octopus was able to change not just its size and color, but the texture of its skin, too.
