I've always hated the stress of finding a cab here in New York City. Sometimes, I feel like my arm might fall off if I keep it raised much longer; other times I wonder if I've somehow gained the power of invisibility. I don't rely on them often, but when I need to I usually reach for my phone now instead of attempting to hail one on my own. Apps like Uber and Lyft have made it super easy to get where I need to go, whether I'm in a car with a fun driver or simply grabbing a taxi.
For Atlanta riders using Lyft recently, several were surprised to find an unusual driver pulling up for their fare. Hiding underneath a variety of hilarious disguises, former L.A. Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal was the man sitting behind the wheel. The silly surprise from the big guy definitely gave the unsuspecting residents a shock!
I'm a little confused how some weren't able to recognize him instantly, to be honest. Measuring just over 7-feet-tall, there aren't too many fellas like Mr. O'Neal on the planet. Plus, that deep voice is unmistakable.
The basketball legend asks his passengers a series of goofy questions, many of them hinting at his not-so-secret identity. Asking one woman who her favorite player is, she responds with Dikembe Mutombo, who's famous for his finger wagging "no" when he makes a basket. Then he asks if she knew of anyone who had dunked on Mutombo, a feat he accomplished in 2007, but doesn't get the response he was hoping for.
