In an effort to encourage people not to drink and drive, the Butler County Sheriff's Office in Ohio released a comical video showing some "suspicious activity" on the security cameras.
The clip features Sheriff Richard K. Jones encountering McGruff the Crime Dog, the popular anthropomorphic cartoon that debuted in the 1980s to raise crime awareness for the American youth. McGruff was caught dancing in the Butler County Sheriff's Office. (This is the same police department that put a roof over a homeless family's head.)
"What are you doing in here?" Sheriff Jones asks McGruff. "That's not how you dance. McGruff come on, this is how you dance."
Seconds later, the Sheriff breaks it down to "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" — the same dance a Sacramento cop was seen performing with local kids. Eventually, other officers also join in on the fun, before Sheriff Jones tells them to get back to work.
The clip ends with the message, "If you're going to 'party' like us… don't drink and drive."
This isn't the first time the Butler County Sheriff's Office used humor to send a message. In 2014, it released a similar video on its Facebook page in an attempt to curtail drug dealers and help catch them.
