Muslim-Owned Restaurant Hangs An Unexpected Sign Out Front About Christmas Dinner

Christmas is celebrated all over the world. It's hard to go anywhere in December without seeing red, gold, and green. No matter what degree of spirituality you have, we know the holiday season is a time of giving, generosity, and gratitude.

In fact, you don't have to be of a certain faith to express the compassionate values Christmas invokes. One Muslim-owned Turkish restaurant in London exemplifies just that.

The restaurant owner, Hasan Masud, put up a sign about Christmas that you don't see from most places during the holidays. The sign quickly went viral because it shows that during a time of divisiveness, where it seems people want to separate us more than unite us, there is one thing that can bring us together: kindness and understanding.

It doesn't matter where you come from or what you believe in, we can all take a note from Masud's playbook!

Shish is a restaurant in London that specializes in Turkish cuisine, but that doesn't mean they don't know how to celebrate Christmas the right way.

The restaurant put up a sign regarding the holiday with a very important message: “No one eats alone on Christmas Day. We are here to sit with you.”

The sign invites the homeless as well as the elderly in for a lavish three-course meal, completely free of charge.

As you can see, diners are in for quite the meal — a great way to spend the holiday if you can't afford a warm cooked dinner or if you are wary of spending it alone.

In a BuzzFeed interview, the owner, Hasan Masud, said he just wants to help.

“We’re just helping people," Masud said. "Lots of people stay home alone for Christmas… They don’t need to. They can come here and have some fun.”

Since the restaurant posted the sign it has gone viral. Many are praising the establishment for going above and beyond to help others when no one really expects them too.

Since the handwritten sign went up, they have upgraded to a more official flyer.

If this doesn't capture the Christmas spirit of giving, what does?
