Andre Pearson is a heart failure patient who has been residing at the Mayo Clinic since March. After doctors deemed him too ill to leave the hospital to go to his daughter’s wedding in California, Andre sadly resigned himself to watching the wedding online.
But a few days before the Saturday evening ceremony, something miraculous happened. Andre's health started to turn around, just enough to make his care team devise a plan. They would help him make the 1,900-mile trip. Only his daughter, Alexandra, had no idea the gigantic surprise she was about to receive the night before her big day.
Accompanied by a hospital staff member, Andre surprised Alexandra by arriving the evening before the wedding in Indio, CA. Her reaction — and the support shown by her family — is so genuine and emotional that it brought tears to my eyes. It's clear to see she's daddy's little girl, and the thought of being without him on her wedding day was difficult for the entire family.
In the end, Alexandra's father walked her down the aisle danced with her at the reception from his wheelchair, and made her ultimate dream come true.
