Therapist Says Teens Who Worked Together To Kill Girl’s Dad May Not Understand Situation

The video of 18-year-old Aaron Guerrero and 16-year-old Sierra Halseth joking about killing her father, Daniel Halseth, continues to haunt many.

The two shared a video to YouTube talking about how it was "day three after murdering someone." They were arrested days later in Utah and face a number of charges in the death. While the video is incredibly disturbing, family therapist Jacent Wamala believes it's also very telling.

"There was a lot that showed dynamics in the relationship and a little bit of power relationally," she told KTNV.

The video also shows Guerrero repeatedly slapping Sierra and putting his hands around her throat. The therapist isn't surprised by the candid video, recovered from Sierra's phone.

"They just do what they know how to do without the separation of the consequences and repercussions of those actions," she noted.

While she cannot comment directly on this case, she says investigators will look at the teens' backgrounds and environments for what they've been exposed to and any past trauma.

"What are they watching? What are they learning and what are they not learning, right? What are they not learning in school? What are they not learning in society?"
