Chiffon Parrish walked into an empty house with her 8-month-old baby girl, Alyssa. As the cameras pointed toward her face, they revealed the mother's shock, awe, and tears. How was this all possible? How it could it be that all of this was for her?
Parrish and Alyssa had been living in a homeless shelter. The mother lived in constant fear that her and her daughter's belongings would be stolen. She had grown accustomed to constantly looking over her shoulder.
A group called Humble Design worked with a ton of organizations and Gardner White to not only find the single mother a house, but to also make it into a home. The new dwelling came fully furnished. There was a dining room, fully stocked kitchen, bedroom, and Alyssa's nursery was practically a playhouse — full of toys and tiny furniture!
"Oh my god, this is beautiful. I am coming home, my daughter has a room now. Thank you all so much," Parrish told WXYZ.
The volunteers even mowed the lawn and swept the sidewalks. Chiffon could barely contain herself. The tears were endless and free-flowing. The single mother vowed to continue working to take care of baby Alyssa and their new home. See the stunning surprise below!
