Technology never ceases to amaze us. There are so many things we can do with the help of computers and programs, which can help us complete simple tasks to making some lifesaving calls.
With a little help from Apple's Siri, a woman living in Richmond discovered that she won the lottery!
Veola Thomas purchased the Virginia Lottery ticket at a local Kroger store. When she wasn't sure if she had won the scratch-off game, she turned to Apple's computerized assistance program. Siri then redirected her to the Virginia Lottery's website, where she discovered that indeed she had won!
But Veola didn't just win — she won the grand prize! She received a very large check of $250,000.
As for what she plans to do with the money, she says that it will go toward paying bills and building a college fund for her 8-year-old son. Coincidentally, she was helping him do his homework when she scratched the winning ticket.
Now, she says that she's feeling "mighty good" after winning the large sum!
We suppose that without Siri, Veola wouldn't have found out that she she had won. Well done, Siri!
