A spotted skunk was caught in the middle of a very acrobatic act at Happy Valley in the Saguaro National Park in Arizona.
The little fellow may look quite funny and frankly adorable in this night-vision camera footage, but he's actually trying to be as intimidating as possible.
Wildlife experts say that this is the position spotted skunks assume when they feel threatened, right before spraying their noxious liquid. In this case, the skunk believes that the predator is the camera!
Oh the wonders of nature! Maybe this bear chose to stand upright for the same reason.
This elaborate warning is meant to make the animals seem bigger than they are. But if you ask us, the threat of smelling like skunk for days is warning enough! Which is why we don't particularly understand why this woman chooses to live with 50 skunks — but if that's what makes her happy, then so be it!
The footage was actually taken over the summer, but only released this week, much to everyone's delight. There is also no word yet if the camera got sprayed by the animal following this little dance.
