Injured Snowy Owl Is Rescued Then Released Back Into The Wild

Whether you're a fan of Harry Potter, or just a fan of owls, you are going to love this video! Remember Hedwig, the Snowy Owl that carried messages to Harry and acted as his faithful companion? Well it looks like the real deal has landed here in the U.S.!

In this video, caretakers work to help a Snowy Owl that they believe was hit by a car, fracturing his wing. After rescuing him from the side of the road, workers cared for the owl and his wing, feeding him nourishing food until he was strong enough to be set free.

What makes this little guy's rescue even more amazing is how rare it is. According to the Humane Society, Snowy Owls — which are the largest owls in North America — have recently been coming to the United States in record numbers. However, even with their increased presence around the country, scientists say it's very rare for them to be found near the New England Cape — which is exactly where this little guy was rescued!

Cut to the :50 mark to watch as this amazing creature take flight. The animal caretakers release the owl on the beach and it takes off without hesitation.

This Snowy Owl's rescue reminds me of the adorable baby turtles who were rescued and released in their native Thailand and the owl who was saved after becoming entangled in a soccer net.

I can't help but find these types of rescue and releases to be really inspiring! SHARE this video if you love animals and love watching them being rescued, too!
