Every kid dreams about doing this for their parents some day, but it isn't possible for many, if not most of us. YouTube user Joey Trombone visited his parents on Christmas in 2014.
He sat on the sofa, cool and collected, with his mom, dad, and dog. Then he handed his mother an envelope with a note and receipt inside about their mortgage.
The message was simple. It read, "Your house is paid off. Merry Xmas. – Joe"
At first his mother was in complete shock, then all she could do was break down into tears and hug her beloved son for the amazing gesture.
No one likes paying bills, but sometimes it is just difficult to pay them. The financial burden of paying off a mortgage can prove challenging, and often, nearly impossible.
To own a home is a part of the American Dream, but to know that you worked hard enough for your children to be able to have even an inkling of more success than you is the true American Dream.
As you'll see in the palpably emotional video below, Joey's parents are filled with pride and gratitude.
