Man Plays An 86-Year-Old Grandma In 300 Games Of Words With Friends Before Flying To Meet Her

Most parents teach their kids to be wary of meeting strangers online. But for 22-year-old Spencer, it was the best thing to have ever happened to him!

Last summer, he started playing Words with Friends with an 86-year-old woman named Roz. The two started playing against each other more and more until they clocked in over 300 games on the mobile app.

"She actually ended up becoming a good friend of mine," Spencer wrote on Twitter. At the end of November, the young man flew from New York to Florida to finally meet his online friend. With the help of his pastor, the two were able to connect in person after forming a bond on the app.

Spencer tweeted about their meeting on December 1, 2017, and people were instantly touched by how sweet it was. In just a day, it's received more than half a million likes and thousands of comments.

Spencer, 22, took his first trip to Florida from his home in Harlem recently.

But he didn't go on an ordinary vacation: he went to see an 86-year-old he'd met while playing Words with Friends.

The two have been using the mobile app for over a year and have played over 300 games together.

With the help of his pastor, Amy, Spencer was able to sort out a time to meet his friend.

On December 1, 2017, Spencer posted photos of his meeting with his new friend, Roz.

His post quickly pulled at the emotions of strangers all over the world. In just a day, more than 600,000 people have liked it.

Spencer and Roz may be more than 60 years apart, but it's clear that friendship has no age restrictions!

"So last summer I randomly met this 80 y/o woman on words with friends," Spencer explained on Twitter. "We played 300+ games together."

Both Roz and Spencer were so excited to meet each other after a year of playing the game.
