It's time to take a break from everything and watch this chubby little Richardson's ground squirrel enjoy a delicious and refreshing cucumber.
On the heels of the adorable squirrel enjoying almond butter, who licked every last bite off the spoon, here comes a pet squirrel chowing down on one of his favorite snacks. There’s something extremely adorable about animals eating, and this delightful video is pure cuteness overload.
As the ground squirrel nibbles on the refreshing cucumbers, he licks his lips over and over. This little guy is in heaven! Richardson's ground squirrels are predominantly herbivores, eating a diet composed of mostly plants and vegetables, supplemented by insects such as grasshoppers. This freshly harvested organic cucumber is positively fine dining for him!
Although these furry creatures may rank high on the cuteness level, one warning should go along with this video: Ground squirrels don't generally make for a good, domesticated pet. The animal in this video is being cared for by animal welfare and conservation specialists who understand their proper day-to-day care.
Even though most of us won't be feeding our own pet squirrels any time soon, we can certainly live vicariously through this video!
