She Tore Up The Bathroom Tiles And Put THIS Amazing Thing In Its Place!

Everyone has a favorite room in their home. Some people treasure the tranquility of their bedrooms, others enjoy the communal aspect of the living room, and a few adore the creative liberation of the kitchen. Then there are those who like the bathroom…

And why shouldn’t we love our lavatories? It’s a place of pure privacy. In fact, according to a survey by Slate, we humans spend a year and a half of our lives in our bathrooms, but that’s not the only surprising water closet statistic. We also spend a total of 92 days on the toilet, and with that much potty-time, it’s no wonder why people have come up with brilliant ways to clean commodes — like using denture tabs.

Being that we clearly spend tons of time in the tinkle-torium, shouldn’t the loo be a place that’s also visually pleasing?

Of course it should!

That’s how one Instructable user, Baldr, felt about her bathroom, inspiring her to remodel it in a way that’s so stunning, her bathroom actually glows. And I’m not talking about the kind of sparkle you get from Mr. Clean, I’m talking about something that’s completely out of this world…

First thing she had to do was make a plan. She had to figure out where her light source — like a dimmer — was going to be. That way all the fiber optics could run from that point. She warns, for safety reasons, to place the light source outside of the bathroom.

She then laid down tiles and taped a bundle of fiber to each. The length of fiber differed depending on how far it was from the light source.

She then laid down the tiles, one by one, starting with the one closest to the light source. First she’d take a tile, take the fibers off it, lay it down, and re-tape where she wanted the fibers to go. She left plenty of space between tiles to hide the wiring with grout later.

She had to be very gentle as she put adhesive on the fibers, because if one broke, it would ruin the final effect.

With the floor looking hairy, she had to then hide some of the loose fibers within the grout.

Once she was done, the bathroom floor looked like any other when the dimmer lights were off.

But when the dimmer lights were turned on, it looked like a starry night sky!

She loved the project so much, she did the same thing to her stairs.

She also gave her coffee table a new shine.

Finally, she made a guitar suited for a rock star.
