Tree Sticks Out Like Sore Thumb In Backyard, So Man Transforms It Into 35-Foot-Tall Pirate Ship

If you are a fan of the Pirates Of The Caribbean film series, you are going to love what Steven Hill has done with his backyard.

In the video below, posted on May 18, 2017, he gives us a personal tour of his very own pirate ship tree house, which he based on the Black Pearl.

How did this all begin?

According to ABC News, a ponderosa pine tree is a rarity in Arizona. Steven's tree sticks out like a sore thumb, but it is very stable and becomes a source of inspiration. He comes from a long line of creators — his grandfather even designed the Disneyland castle we all know and love.

Steven explains, "I'm just a kid, I guess, like they were, you know? They loved to dream as well and to draw and dream. So, you can kind of tap into that, I think."

He and his wife got to work. A year and almost 2,000 pounds of donated lumber later, their ponderosa pine was completely transformed into the three-story pirate ship tree house of their dreams.

Now, the couple lets the entire community come out and enjoy their masterpiece.

"We had one little boy just throw up his hands, like in utter amazement," Steven smiles. This definitely makes all the hard work worth it.
