Puppy Stolen From Adoption Event Is Returned To Relieved Woman Hours Later

Danielle Lee was in a frenzy when she discovered that one her adorable puppies, a Chihuahua/Australian shepherd mix named Venus, had been stolen.

Danielle is the director of Wiggle Butts, a nonprofit organization, and was holding an adoption event in front of O.H.S.O. Brewery in Paradise Valley, Arizona, when a couple expressed interest in adopting Venus.

They reportedly asked how much it would be to adopt her. After Danielle answered that it would cost the couple $300 to bring the puppy home, they disappeared — with Venus.

Faced with the theft of the adorable puppy, Danielle found it difficult to focus on finding the other animals still in her care a home.

“I just couldn’t focus, because of the missing puppy,” she said.

So she put out notices on social media, explaining that Venus had been stolen. But only hours later, Danielle received a surprising phone call.

Venus had been dropped off at PetSmart — which was right next door to the adoption event. She was dropped off at the store by someone who assumed that she was a stray, only three hours after she was stolen!

Now, Danielle is just thankful that Venus is safe and sound, and can move forward with trying to find her and her puppy brothers and sisters good and loving homes!
