This video is proof positive you should never judge a book by its cover.
On the outside, Nasir looks rough-and-tough. He says people look at him and assume he's an ex-con, with his tattoo-covered body, grizzly beard, and leather jacket. But what he does on his days off will truly touch your heart.
Growing up in Japan, Nasir volunteered for Youth Work overseas. Along the way, he fell victim to a crippling drug addiction before rediscovering his faith and achieving sobriety.
Working six days a week cutting hair, Nasir spends his one day off hitting the city streets to give free haircuts to the homeless. He's known as ‘The Streets Barber,’ and attributes his kindhearted work to his gratitude for being sober and healthy. "They need actual human contact to help engage them in some form of intimacy with a human being that actually cares for them." By simply taking the time to cut their hair, clean them up, and talk to them, that's exactly what Nasir gives these men and women who live their lives in shame.
This is a video everyone should see. Bravo, Nasir. Please SHARE it with your friends on Facebook!
