No matter what age a person is, a cancer diagnosis is obviously never an easy thing to tackle, but it's even more difficult to process for the young, like the brave 6-year-old in the clip below. Chase Jones' whole world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with a rare case of leukemia in November last year.
Chase has since been forced to take a leave of absence from school as he travels the long distance from his home in Granville, North Dakota, all the way over to Fargo for the aggressive form of treatment he needs.
Back home, however, his classmates still keep him in their hearts as they rally to raise funds to make sure he's able to continue the much-needed medical care without worrying about financial strain.
His principal also joined the kids in their efforts with a creative promise to spend a day working from the school's roof if the students could reach their monetary goal. So far, they've been able to gather about $7,000!
With Chase finally able to visit his classmates for a couple of days, the kids and their principal celebrated by dressing up for a "Superhero Day."
I can only imagine the look on Chase's face when he saw his principal perched on the roof in a bright red cape and wig!
