Single Mom Can’t Pay Her Bills, So Best Friend Calls Reporter Behind Her Back

Lisa Howell has known her best friend, Sheryl, since they were freshman in high school. Their bond has remained strong for over 30 years. When Lisa heard her friend had fallen on hard times, she knew she had to something about it.

Sheryl took in two of her adult daughters who had no place to go. The single mother works long hours to support her family, but she was spread too thin. The sink in the kitchen broke, and her family was forced to do dishes in the sink because they couldn't afford to fix it.

Even things like groceries were getting harder to find the money for.

Lisa decided to reach out to the local news station WSFB. She was stunned when the Liberty Bank Surprise Squad responded with an amazing proposition.

The squad had reached out to local plumber Michael Mancini, who had coincidentally been looking for a way to help community members. Michael agreed to use his employees and resources to fix Sheryl's sink.

However, the much-needed repair wasn't the only surprise the mother got that day. The squad showed up at her doorstep with bags and bags of groceries.

Sheryl had no idea they were coming. Then the reporter handed her an envelope full of cash to help pay her bills. The surprise may not have solved all of Sheryl's problems, but it gave her some breathing room.
