This Cat Sticks Its Paw In The Swimming Pool Until Someone Walks In. Then? HA!

Cats are so smart and agile, but sometimes they are also the easiest pet to startle. They can go from being sneaky and crafty and athletic to being scared out of their minds and jumping ten feet in the air in a matter of seconds.

My own cats, for instance, will sometimes come into the room where I'm sitting and just wander around me for a few minutes. If I so much as quickly move my foot across the carpet and it makes a strange sound? Forget it! They jump sky high like it's the scariest thing they've ever encountered.

In the video below, you'll see a fantastic (and hilarious) example of this curious feline trait in action.

Captured on surveillance video, you'll see as a small black cat approaches a vacant pool. It walks up to the edge of the pool and dips its paw in, either looking for a quick drink or testing the pool's temperature before it invites all its other kitty friends back for a pool party. (Isn't that what cats do when no one is around?)

Everything seems fine as kitty is enjoying life at the pool. That is, until a maintenance worker walks into the pool area with a hose and seems to make some type of noise. It's pretty clear from the video that she's not squirting the cat with water or doing anything specific to the cat. She just walks out there to do her job.

But as soon as Kitty hears that noise, watch out! The cat jumps a few feet into the air and does a twist before landing smack dab in the water. It's hilarious!

Of course, now that Kitty is in the water, you'll start to worry about the cat, but rest assured that it makes its way back to the stairs and crawls out of the pool with very few issues before scampering off.

What a crazy reaction and what a wild jump. Cats… You gotta love them!
