I think most people would agree that a true sign of ownership is a shiny new set of keys. Whether for a house, a car, or something wild like a boat, when you're handed a jingly ring of keys, you officially know it's yours.
But the older you get, and the more purchases you make, the less keys seem like symbols of pride and the more they become pains in the butt — both figuratively and sometimes quite literally.
One day you look down and your once-simple key ring is now bursting with keys, some you can identify, some you can't. Bulky, bulging, and banging around, you look more and more like a jailer with each passing day.
That's why this life hack is so incredibly brilliant. By simply pulling apart an old pocket knife, these crafters have completely revolutionized key rings! I hope they patent these soon, because this is ingenious.

Tired of carrying both his knife and keys in his back pocket — and looking to make a more efficient key ring — this clever crafter started by disassembling his pocket knife.

After pulling apart the casing, he tore out all of the various instruments and pieces.

Next, he figured out which keys would be included in his new ring, and he mapped out their new shape.

He reshaped their head, then drilled a new hole.

When his reshaped keys were ready, he assembled the pieces to put it all back together. He also gave his knife a new brass body.

When he was done, he had a new pocket accessory that was part knife, part key ring. Now, he'll never again have to carry around a bulky bundle of keys!

Similarly, another crafter looked at his pocket multi-tool and decided to give it a try.

After pulling out all of the bits and pieces, he slipped his keys right on. No need for reshaping in this version.

Now his keys all fit snugly in one spot, no jumbled mess in his back pocket.

Not only does this keep keys nice and tidy, but it makes for a more ergonomic fit when unlocking a door. Isn't this brilliant? I want one, too!
