Every year in the city of Ghent, Belgium, there is a special music festival that features a huge assortment of bands, musicians, and street acts.
The festival itself has been around since 1843, and though the years have passed by, the spirit of the whole event certainly has not. The festival lasts for 10 whole days and is attended by as many as 2 million people from all over Europe. These 10 days are filled with silly puppet acts, delicious local food, and other spectacular things that help the local economy.
The very last day of this festival is actually called "The Day of Empty Wallets," simply because everyone has spent all their money, so it's time to go home and get back to work again!
While the festival is certainly filled with silly events, one of the most hilarious is the famous goose parade. This gaggle of 14 geese roam the streets of Ghent much to the joy of children and adults alike. Along with the fun music, these geese are held in high esteem and have a special place of honor throughout the festival.
Imagine if you were in the middle of a festival and you suddenly saw these fine feathered friends stepping through your neighborhood? It doesn't get much more hilarious than this!
