College Student Tracking Celeb Private Jets Get Cease And Desist Letter From Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's legal team has sent a cease and desist letter to a college student who has been tracking the celebrity's private jets. Jack Sweeney, a student at the University of Central Florida, says he uses public information to track the pop star's private jets along with other celebrities' private planes and helicopters.

He then shares their location on social media. However, according to Taylor's attorneys, she is now living "in a constant state of fear for her personal safety" as a result, and the student is being demanded to stop.

The letter, sent in December 2023, says that the singer will "have no choice but to pursue any and all legal remedies” if Jack does not stop his “stalking and harassing behavior.” The letter continued, "While this may be a game to you, or an avenue that you hope will earn you wealth or fame, it is a life-or-death matter for our Client. Ms. Swift has dealt with stalkers and other individuals who wish her harm."

A spokesperson for the singer told TODAY.com that while they can't currently comment on any ongoing police investigations, they "can confirm the timing of stalkers suggests a connection" to the college student's accounts sharing her location. "His posts tell you exactly when and where she would be," the spokesperson said.

On the other hand, Jack says he doesn't intend to do or bring any harm to the celebrity by sharing her information. "I simply share the facts. I believe in transparency and public information, apparently more so than Meta," he said, adding, "You should have a decent expectation that your jet will be tracked whether or not I do it, as after all, it is public information."
