Two special-needs students accused their teachers of bullying them — and they even caught said teachers in the heinous act.
Back in 2011, 12-year-old Austin claimed his teacher and teacher's aide called him names like "stupid" and "retarded." Austin's classmate, Cheyanne, was the first to go public with the accusations, saying the teacher and aide regularly criticized her. To prove it, she secretly went to class wearing a tape recorder under her clothes.
After she gave the wrong answer in class, Cheyanne was forced to run on the treadmill, which was placed in the classroom, for 15 minutes straight. You can hear the teacher berating her, telling her she does nothing but sit home and watch TV when she should be outside going for walks.
The school district claimed that the treadmill was used to "refocus" the students' attention, rather than being a tool used for punishment.
"Have you seen Austin walk on the treadmill?" the teacher can be heard saying on the tape. "Yes," Cheyanne responds.
When Austin came forward, he said that he, too, was forced to walk on the treadmill.
While the teacher had to attend bullying and child abuse classes, she was placed on unpaid leave and allowed to return to her job. The state permanently revoked the teacher's aide permit.
Austin remained enrolled in his teacher's class.
