Josh had just started a new school year and he had no idea what he was in for. On the first day of school, he spent nearly 30 minutes picking out what he was going to wear while his mom made him a hearty breakfast.
When Josh’s parents got divorced, his grades dropped dramatically. His teacher warned him that if he didn’t pull up his socks and start studying more, he might have to repeat the year before he could enter high school.
Fortunately, Josh was able to get his act together and graduate from middle school with his friend group and move on to his local high school.
A few days into the school year, Josh noticed what appeared to be an unhoused man sitting outside of the high school, trying to interact with some of the students. Josh didn’t know what to make of the situation, so he asked some of his friends if they had talked to the man at all.
A couple of Josh’s friends didn’t get a good vibe from the man as they found it odd that he was hanging out right beside a high school filled with teenagers. They wondered if he might be trying to abduct one of the students.
