I recently moved from the ocean to the mountains which was a considerably big more for me because I grew up near the ocean and have always lived no further than a few miles from the sea with the exception of an 8-month stint in the midwest in my mid-twenties. While I absolutely love my new digs and my new neighborhood, I'm not used to this relentless heat. The temperature legitimately went up 20 whole degrees and the adjustment has been arduous, to say the least. It has been, in my opinion, an unreasonably hot summer , and it shows no signs of letting up from where I'm sitting. There have been many, many hot, sweaty nights that even a well-positioned fan doesn't seem to reprieve. My husband and I were considering ditching our old foam mattress topper, because, frankly, we were too hot to function.

This is when I tell you about how the Tempur-Pedic Adapt + Cooling mattress topper changed my life, and I'm not exaggerating. When the mattress topper first arrived, it looked about the same as our other one, so we didn't think it would be that much different. Boy, were we wrong! First of all, the 3-inch foam topper lent the perfect amount of softness without being overly squishy. I'm not the type of person who likes to literally sink into my bed. I need a little bit of back support because I like to sleep on my stomach, and if it's too squishy my back arches too much, and it can be quite painful.

But best of all, the mattress topper didn't envelop my body in sweaty hotness and make me feel like I was roasting myself to a crisp golden brown. Instead, it felt like there was some aeration flowing between my body and its surface. I asked my husband how he felt about it the next day, and he said it was a "game changer"!

We also tried the Tempur-Symphony pillows, and they offer fantastic support — especially for anyone who likes to read while propped up in bed. The cool thing about these pillows is that they work for both back sleepers and side sleepers because of the gently arched design, which makes it so the pillow has one flat side and one arched side.

I would absolutely recommend the Adapt + Cooling mattress topper for anyone who is tired of sticking to their sheets as well as for anyone who wants to add just the right amount of cushiness to their mattress without turning it into a sinkhole.
