Any mother will tell you that motherhood requires ultimate selflessness, and undivided attention.
Amber is a single mom with two children, who then became pregnant with Baby Lily. Amber wanted to keep Lily more than anything in the world, but ultimately she decided that Lily deserved a better home than she could give her, and one with two parents.
I broke down in tears when Amber read her story to the camera, called "The Gift." The video below follows Amber on her journey, documented by filmmaker Jared Fadel. Hearing from Amber's proud and loving family is enough to touch anyone's heart.
Amber was having trouble choosing the right couple who would become Lily's parents. Then one day, Amber saw Erin and Mike, who had cultivated a wonderful relationship with their 3-year-old son Bryson's birth mother. Amber knew Erin and Mike were Lily's parents, too.
In 2012, Amber surprised Erin and Mike with her decision, and you can watch it all unfold in the touching video below.
Amber should be praised for her selflessness, which we also saw in Ashley Bridges, a young mom who never wavered in her decision to put off cancer treatment until after her baby was born.
