Vivian Boyack and Alice Dubes have been together for 72 years, but just the other day, finally did something they have been wanting to do for decades: They got married.
“This is a celebration of something that should have happened a very long time ago,” said the Reverend who married them during a small ceremony in Davenport, Iowa.
The two women, who met in the town they grew up in, say that it takes a lot of hard work to keep a relationship going for 72 years, but also say that they've had "a good time."
“I’ve known these two women all my life, and I can tell you, they are special,” says Jerry Yeast, a mutual friend who has known the couple since he was 18 years old (he's now 72). “This is a very special day for all of us.”
