When 20-year-old student Grace Curley posted 18 photos of her and her brother on Facebook, the Paris, Canada native originally intended the photos to be a special message for family and friends. Many months later, Grace and her younger brother Josh have become internet sensations. Josh, who is 18, has Down syndrome. The series of photographs show his sister holding cue cards with a variety of messages on them about awareness for the disease.
The most powerful card, in my opinion, is the one that says "Real Friends Don't Count Chromosomes." This simple and powerful message has become a voice for those who are not heard as often as they should. People with disabilities deserve the same love, respect and understanding as those who don't. As anyone who knows someone with Down syndrome knows, they have the biggest hearts in the world. Please SHARE to spread the love.
