Tom Jones Sings ‘We Can Work It Out’ In 1970, And It Is An Absolute Vision

The number of Beatles covers out there accumulated over the decades is astronomically huge. Chances are, at some point in every pop or rock star's career, they've sung their own version of one of the many hits. Sometimes, their covers are very true to the original, but other times? The song is hardly even recognizable. That's when it really gets interesting. To see one artist put their own very unique spin on an already famous song really gives you perspective on their talent!

Tom Jones, born Thomas John Woodward, was knighted by the Queen of England in 2006 for his service to music, but his career started way back in the 1960s. In the early '60s, he was the frontman for a group called Tommy Scott and the Senators. They enjoyed mild success, but eventually petered out. Jones, however, was discovered by a London-based music manager named Gordon Mills. Mills is the one who gave him the name "Jones," to take advantage of the 1963 film Tom Jones. Whether or not the name was the selling point or not, we'll never know, but Jones became a music legend.

While he has recorded records, he's most well-known for his performances on Las Vegas stages. At least once a week from 1967 to 2011, Jones appeared onstage with that quintessential Vegas flair. His full voice, bold fashion choices, and incredible stage presence reeled in audiences every single time.

This performance of "We Can Work It Out" is so very '70s and it is so, so wonderful.
