When I'm running late in the morning, I usually try to pull my hair into a bun; if I have more time, I've even attempted this fancy braided updo. Nowadays, I opt for an easy faux-waterfall braid, which allows me to let my hair down and still look fabulous. But for those mornings when my hair is still wet, I've found that this "twisted tornado" hairstyle is a winner!
All you need are a few simple accessories: a brush, a hair elastic, and some bobby pins. This is such a sleek and cool look, perfect for any day or any event!
First, it's important that your hair is straight. Wet hair is recommended because this will definitely help keep your hair in place. Divide your hair into two sections, parting it down the middle. Start at the very top of your head, at the part, and start twisting a small section. Be sure to twist very tightly! Keep on adding sections of hair until the very end, keeping the twist high. Secure the twist to your scalp with bobby pins while you do the same on the other side.
When both halves of hair are done, bring them together at the base of the neck, and secure both with an elastic. You can even emphasize the tightness of the twists by bringing them closer together in the middle with hair pins, forming a tornado-like cone! To finish off the look, wrap a small section of hair around the elastic to conceal it, and pin it down.
I love this chic look — it looks great on all hair types and lengths!
