Baby talk is one thing, but the following video poses a pretty crazy question. Do twins REALLY have their own secret languages that only they can understand?
We've seen videos like the following one before, where twin babies seem to be in a special conversation that makes zero sense to the rest of the world. You can always shake it off as baby babble, but the idea of "twin language" has been around for many years.
It's known as Crytophasia and it's been estimated that up to 50% of young twins can communicate only with each other. The theory? Many people believe that it's because twins are so close to each other that they don't need as much interaction with people outside themselves. But does that hold up with scientific fact? The verdict is unclear, but just by looking at these two cuties, I lean towards it being very true.
This video was taken by Roy Johannink of Amersfoort, Netherlands who caught his twins, Merle and Stijn, in the midst of a very important conversation. Even though the babes weren't talking to each other, they still had A LOT to say.
