Lions are the second-largest cat after tigers. While we know lions to be vicious predators, they are in fact very much cats.
I mean just look at these lions and tigers cuddling together with humans or how this zoo lion just wants to play with a cute toddler!
Of course, we probably should steer clear of keeping lions and tigers as pets — but we should also understand that no creature, animal or human, is truly malicious.
It doesn't matter how big those claws or teeth are, the most dangerous animals can be the most loyal and affectionate.
Lions can weigh up to 550 pounds — so when I saw this one jump onto a man, I thought even if the lion didn't tear him up to bits, the weight would totally crush him.
What really happens is far more interesting.
Conservationist Valentin Gruener unlocks the gate and the lioness named Sirga rushes out of the door. She immediately jumps on him and the camera catches it all.
Sirga was exiled from her pride as a cub and in the video she weighs around 110 pounds. That's a lot of lioness!
