Valerie Taylor and her husband Ron are world-renowned SCUBA divers and shark experts. However, the Australian divers aren't just professionals, they've actually been welcomed into the animal kingdom by different creatures over the years.
You may have heard stories about dolphins or other animals developing relationships with humans, but Valerie's unique bond with one spotted Moray eel named Honey is truly incredible. When Valerie first met Honey in 1974 while diving in Banda Island, Indonesia, he was shy, but she returned to visit him and eventually Honey came around. In this incredible clip, Valerie recalls her amazing relationship with the friendly eel, who she visits every so often.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that… that eel really likes me,” Valerie says at the end of the clip. It's as simple as that, she'll NEVER have another relationship like the one with this animal. Ron has since passed away and Valerie doesn't spend much time in the ocean anymore, but when you see this clip, you'll understand why she'll never forget this one amazing animal.
